The Worthing Area Dementia Forum first met in October 2013, as bi-monthly public meetings at venues such as Guild Care and the Worthing Alzheimer’s Society. Supported by these charities and Carers Support West Sussex and Coastal West Sussex Mind, our aim was to establish a dementia friendly community in the Worthing area.
Our vision is to create an inclusive dementia friendly community where people living with dementia, and their family carers, are active participants within the community. A place where people with dementia can remain independent and have choice and control over their lives within a safe and rewarding supportive environment.
Worthing’s dementia-friendly community, with its many dementia friends of all ages, and from all walks of life, are already having a positive impact.
